It's time

As the boys are napping, I'm looking around and getting antsy. Antsy to decrapify. It's no one's fault but mine. Mine and the fact that our house lacks storage. I like to think of myself as a pretty organized type of person, but with the craziness of the holidays, company, and travel, I've really neglected organization. Tim and I's Christmas gift to one another is an armoire to serve as a computer desk. We've yet to find one. Our taste is pretty eclecticy/antiquey, so we're looking alot on Craigslist. I think once we purchase an armoire, it'll really clear up desk clutter (as in, when it gets messy, you can just shut the doors). The desk we have now is one Tim bought back when he was a little boy. We painted it black last year to try make it look a little better, but I don't think it helped. It's served it's purpose, but I think we're anxious to let it go.

I'm a subscriber to Better Homes and Gardens and in a recent issue, there was an artical about having a "swap/donation party". I thought that was such a neat idea, that I've decided to have one myself to help decrapify the house with things we no longer need. I'm so excited! I think there's no better time to have one than after the holidays.

I'm kicking off organization tomorrow with a trip to Target for a couple of storage bins. I need to start one for Fount's keepsakes. And I, also, have an overload of Christmas decorations hanging out on our dresser, (and believe it or not, Thanksgiving/Halloween decorations in my closet begging to have a real home). I love the saying- "Make a home for every thing you own" and if it doesn't have a home, look at it and see if you really need it or not. I also need to find some type of catch-all basket thingy for all of Holden's new toys...We're foaming at the mouth with cars and trucks and planes and crap.
