Looking back on 2013...

Unfortunately, I didn't do a very good job of keeping up this family blog. Up until this year, I used this blog as an album full of memories. I look at the kids and they have changed more this year, to me, than any other year before. Thank goodness for instagram because it's all there. All the cute, the fun, and the stinker behavior. I love it! Hopefully, this year, I'll do a better job of posting on here. I'll try :)

For now, here's a quick look at some of the highlights, to those of you who aren't on facebook or instagram. Our family is growing up (that includes Tim and I too)! Did I mention that Tim and I both turned 30 in 2013? He before me, so technically, I'm barely 30.

Tim got a promotion to be the Administrator of Anesthesia and Faculty at Georgetown. Yay!!! I am so proud of him. He works so hard for our family. (Thank you, honey!)

Holden began kindergarten and he can read! Wow! We're still learning, but he's blowing through the BOB books like crazy. It's so amazing to hear him. This time with him has been so special. I think we've both learned a lot. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

...and he turned 6!

Fount started preschool! He goes to a co-op class once a week and he loves it. His teachers say that he is always a good boy and knows all the answers. We kicked off his real preschool, at home, yesterday. I was surprised at how much he focused on learning. It was really sweet :)

...and he turned 4!

Sadie Jane turned 2 at the end of March. She also had a seizure, which was one of the most scary things we've ever been through, especially with our children. After many tests and exceptional care at Georgetown, all signs pointed to this being her freebee. Thankfully, our little firecracker is perfectly fine.

...and is FINALLY potty trained! (mid-Dec. 2013)

And me? I tried my hand at refurbishing furniture and it's been a blast!

It's been a crazy, busy year for the Ruses. One full of change, stability, and growth. I know I speak for Tim when I say that we are anxious to see what God has for us in this new year. Every year of our marriage, God has shook things up. I guess we'll see. It's kind of exciting! :)
