It all started on Sunday morning when Sadie woke up with a fever. I knew it was very unlike her to sleep in until 8:30am, but I thought this mommy was just getting lucky. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite.
Her fever, on Monday night, it got as high as 104.6...She's had such a difficult week~ high fevers, vomiting, in and out of sleep, uncontrollable screaming, dehydration...Just pitiful.
After taking her to the pediatrician, having all blood work and tests come back normal, they gave her a catheter at 10:30am and not having a wet diaper or tears by nearly 5:30pm and her condition fading by the minute, I took her to the ER. Thankfully, we only waited 5 minutes for a room and our nurses were amazing.
Our sweet nurse, Dawn, was from Jersey, (complete with the Snookie poof and all) happened to have 3 teenage children, nearly the exact same spacing as Tim and I. She treated us just like family. She and our other nurse, Nicole, were so gentle with Sadie. I couldn't have asked for more for my daughter in this circumstance.
As soon as we got in the room, they gave her zofran to calm her stomach. It really made a difference. Enough where she took a couple of tiny sips of a ginger ale, not wanting any more than that. Sadie was so dehydrated that finding a vein was nearly impossible. They finally stuck her near her ankle. I was surprised that she didn't try to pull it out. I think she just didn't have any energy left.

Within a couple of minutes of getting the IV, she fell asleep.
It was amazing how her coloring started to return. I was so thankful! This was when she was finished getting the fluids. She felt so much better. It wasn't a cure all, but it got us over a really scary bump.

In conclusion, the blood work shows that she's fighting a virus. She's still not eating more than a couple of cheerios here and there. This morning she ate a grape or two. It's going to take a few days for her to be back to her normal self.
We appreciate your prayers!
