Get ready....this is a LONG post, but it's full of pictures!
Friday
Relaxing, after a trip to The Air and Space Museum.
Fount loves holding his little sister!
Saturday
We went to Luray Caverns. It was our very first roadtrip, as a family of 5, and we made it there without using a DVD player. Next time, I think it's going to be a must!
As you will notice, in most of our pictures, Holden is at a stage where he hates getting his picture taken. Lately, I either get a scowl or his hand is up in his face. Hopefully he'll grow out of it soon! I guess I can just blame it on "the 3s."
Sadie spent her day in the sleepy wrap and slept the entire time. I was so thankful!
It was pretty chilly down in the cave. I felt bad not having jackets for the boys. They didn't seem to mind though.
Isn't this a neat reflection?
At nighttime, Holden likes for us to tell him stories. He use to like to hear stories about how Tim or I hurt or embarrassed ourselves when we were kids. He still thinks those stories are hilarious. But now he is into "Tom and Huckleberry" stories- Tim makes them up as he goes and Holden loves them. They're about nice pirates and treasures- like golden airplanes. He thought that we were going to meet Tom, Huckleberry, and their friends at Luray Caverns. It was terribly sweet!
Can someone who's overly trendy explain this to me?...I totally don't get it.
Holden was sure this was one of their treasures!
"X" marks the spot!
This was really neat. Look at the totals!
Here's the wishing well. The bottom looks like it has pebbles, but it's actually covered with a thick layer of coins.
Here we are! I can't believe how many of us there are now!
I'm looking foward to many more Ruse roadtrips! I can't wait for the day when can go to waterparks and Six Flagish places. For now, we're spread a little thin, for safety purposes. Maybe in a few more years! For now, we sure are enjoying them small, as we know, these days will be gone in a flash. However, Tim and I often speak about how when they go off to college, we'll still be relatively young. We already have big plans! Ha Ha!
The boys fell right to sleep Saturday night.
Notice how Fount is spooning George. They're bottoms and legs mimic eachother.
Sunday
I really wanted the kids to take a picture together before we left for church. They were matching, so I really needed a picture. Not happening. This was what we got-
Sadie was a little screamy...
"Do I have to?"
We had a lazy Sunday afternoon. Not the kind where the parents get a nap though :)
That evening we went to a friend's house, from church, for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun, especially for the boys, who got to run loose. Our Sunday school class as come up with a wonderful way to get connected with the other couples in the class. We do a thing called "Dinner 6." You're in a group with a few other couples, and you get together with them once a month for three months. At the end of that time, they put you in another group, and by the end of the year, you've met with everyone in the class, three times. I love it!
Monday
Yesterday, the boys went out for an "umventure" hike. From the looks of them (and the smell of them), I think they had a good time! They go to Manassas Battlefield park for their hikes and it's always a hit.
It's Tuesday now and we're missing Tim. Can't everyday be a holiday?
