Yesterday I made shadow boxes for each of the boys. Looking through all of their keepsakes was really special. Up until now, all of their things that I have saved thus now have been in rubbermaid tubs. I decided to do shadow boxes from their births. In Holden's box, I included the outfit Tim and I bought for him to wear in the hospital. I found it at Dawn Price Baby in Georgetown and it was just perfect. Kissy Kissy has become my most favorite newborn baby brand. If I was thinking, I would have gotten him a one piece because the pants kept rubbing his belly button area, and he had no waist, so I had to roll up the bottoms. It was beautiful though. I love a baby in white. The outfit was the first non-hospital thing we ever put on him. With that, I included his hospital hat, birth announcement and, of course, pah pah.
Here's me putting on his outfit for the first time, December 9, 2007 the day he was born.
Tim and brand new Holden
In Fount's shadow box, I include his birth announcement, going home outfit- hat included, which were both a gift from my mom (and both Kissy Kissy).

Fount and I
I can't wait to hang the shadow boxes. I plan on putting them on the wall going up the stairs. I lined the back of the boxes with burlap. We'll see what it looks like once they're up....I'll be sure to post pictures of them today! There are so many great ideas for shadow boxes. If I'm not careful, I could go crazy with them, but I think I'll do my best to stick to "going home/hospital" ones for our children.
