Pecan Pie

This year my mother-in-law sent me pecans- already shelled! So, I thought, it being Christmas and all, that I would make a pecan pie. I'm a huge fan of Southern Living and I found a yummy looking pecan pie recipe that I thought I would try. I'll let you know how it tastes!

Ingredients:
1/2 cups of pecan pieces
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup light or dark corn syrup
2 tbls. melted butter
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt
I'll be using my grandmother's homemade pie crust recipe, but this calls for 1 (9-inch) deep-frozen unbaked pie shell (Mrs. Smith's brand).
Preparation:
Spread pecans on a single layer baking sheet
Bake at 350 for 8-10 min. or until toasted
Stir together eggs and the next 5 ingredients; Stir in pecans; Pour in pie shell/crust
Bake at 350 for 55 min. or until set; Shielding pie with foil after 20 min. to prevent excessive browning. Serve warm or cold.
