2 is too quickly approaching

Today marks Holden's 21 month birthday. Today he grabbed my hand and said, "Nice tah meet ya!" All the new words he says and funny little sentences I just adore. In fact, he talks all the time. If you ask him how he likes to take it, he says "Easy real." The phrase, "No thank you" has also become part of his vocabulary. Some of his new favorite toys are airplanes, cars, trucks, tractors, and helicopters and he talks about them all the time. When he wakes up in the mornings I always ask him what he dreamed about and his answer is always the same- "airplanes!...tractors!..." He's started singing a lot lately. His all time favorite is "Amazing Grace," which he sings all the time. The other day I caught him rocking his Curious George and singing, "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound..." It was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. He also likes to sing "Jesus Loves Me," "Twinkle Twinkle, " and "Clean up, Clean up." Whenever you hear a child sing "Amazing Grace" or "Jesus Loves Me," there's just something about it...you really hear it better that way, I think.

This week I am also 34 weeks along. (No picture needed--just getting big). I really can't believe it. I feel like I should be nesting and putting the final touches on all things baby. With Holden every thing was just so at this point and we were just waiting for him. And I'm sure that after our move next week, we'll have every thing all set for our new little guy. In the meantime I'm making list after list of last minute things to get for the baby and myself. The advantage of having a second baby is that you realize the necessities you need in the beginning. So, even if he happens to come early, I feel like we're completely ready for him. Today I purchased these amazing blankets. My friend, Aimee, who finds all these great deals and products introduced me to Aden and Anais muslin wraps that you can use for swaddling, a nursing cover, a crib sheet, a floor blanket...just about anything. http://www.albeebaby.com/aden-and-anais-4-pack-muslin-wraps-in-mod.html (I got the Zoo ones) After going through and washing all of Holden's blankets, I realized that we needed something light weight that will sufficiently hold a wiggly swaddled baby. Holden was like Houdini--he could get out of any thing. I can't wait to try them out!

Last Friday Tim and I went to the most incredible concert ever. David Bazan. I'll have to post some video when I get a chance. Tim videoed the entire thing and we just happened to have the most spectacular view of any one there! It was a small in home concert of about 30 people, so it was very personable. After one much needed phone call home to the babysitter, I felt completely relaxed and was able to fully enjoy our date night. It was weird to hold hands an entire trip, without turning around every few seconds to locate a dropped paci or deliver emergency cheerios. I was so happy when we got home to find out that Holden had slept the entire time we were away. I was so proud of him. Knowing that makes it just a little easier to plan another date night.
