Takin it easy

On holidays you kind of expect to get to sleep in late and when you finally make it out of bed, lounge as long as you can in your pajamas. Except for the last part, we were up and at 'em at 5:30am Saturday morning. All three of us were sleepy, so we turned on Sesame Street and soon found Holden like this-

That evening we went to my Aunt Carla and Uncle Drew's house on Bolling AFB for homemade ice cream, a little cousin time, and a spectacular view of the fireworks as we sat on the edge of the Potomac.

Our growing family!

He thought every one was there to see him. He kept smiling, waving, and saying "hi" to every one. It was sweet!

In the past two days Holden has flushed a paci and a harmonica down the toilet. It's a real shame because he and Tim were becoming quite the harmonica players. I was shocked when it actually made it down, without needing a courtesy flush. I asked him this morning what he had done and he ran to the toilet, pointed, and said, "Monica." He looked just as surprised as me that it went down. I told Holden that his paci and harmonica went down the drain with Fannie Mae, so now every time we go back into the bathroom, he opens the shower curtain and calls down the drain to Fannie Mae. In case you've forgotten about my past mentioning of Fannie Mae or have never heard of her before, I'll refresh your memory. We sing this every night as the water drains out of Holdens bath:
Fannie Mae, where are you going?
Upstairs to take a bath.
Fannie Mae with legs like toothpicks
And a neck like a giraffe.
Fannie Mae got in the bathtub.
Fannie Mae pulled up the drain.
Oh my goodness!
Oh my soul!
There goes Fannie Mae down that hole!
Fannie Mae?
Fannie Mae?

Noah works for Fannie Mae, and I can tell you that the STOCK went down the drain too! Sadly. ;) So excited that Holden's becoming such a big boy...soon to be big brother!

Great fireworks pictures! All look like they're having a great time. And the Fannie Mae song is hilarious--I thought you actually DID mean the company. My mom sang that song but instead of Fannie Mae she'd say Alice. How interesting! I'll tell Alice to say hi to Fannie Mae and HOlden's paci and harmonica. :)
