Hard Days Night

Tim is working a few nights this week. It'll be nice, in the end because he'll have Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off of work. He's talking about taking Holden camping. I can't imagine anything Holden would enjoy more than smores and special Daddy time.

These night shifts really take me back to the old days... Of course, when Tim would leave for work I didn't have a mountain of laundry to catch up on, or a little baby to feed. It was more like, a bubble bath, a glass of wine, and a girly movie kind of night. Times change, right? I'm so glad they do.

I thought I'd share a couple of "old days" pics...

Here we are posing in our garage apartment before Tim heads out for a night shift at Abilene Regional!

I took this picture of Tim chillin on the futon in our studio, just before I went to bed (a foot away from him). When he was suppose to be awake, I was sleeping in the same room, so it was tough on him. If you never stepped foot in our studio, it's hard to explain just how tiny it was. One lamp could light the entire place. Someone could be cooking with the one lamp on, while on th other side of the studio, someone was taking a shower and both people had enough light to accomplish any task. Good times...I loved that place.  Can you see the sleepiness in his eyes? I think Tim was sleepy for a few years...
He would work a night shift on Friday night, sleep until just after lunch and we'd get up and start site-seeing. We did that just about every weekend the first year we lived in DC. So much to see and do!

I'm glad night shifts aren't our norm anymore.

(Love you, honey! Thanks for working so hard to provide for our family! You're the best! XO)
