We did it!

I thought about titling it: "Holden did it!" But I really felt like it was an accomplishment for both of us. At the beginning of his potty training, I set the goal of completion for 3 days. My aunt told me about "Potty Training 1-2-3" but I never made it to the library before I wanted to start and I thought- How hard could it actually be to teach someone to go to the potty? And, honestly, minus a couple of really gross accidents, it was a really beautiful thing to watch- my baby become a big boy and special too because we worked together for his big accomplishment. That and M&Ms, stickers, and bribes gallore, which worked :) And yesterday, Day 3, to be exact, we celebrated our Holden being potty trained. Yay! We started our afternoon with a trip to Target for his big boy prize, dinner at Chipotle (I think that was more for Tim and I...), and ice cream at Baskin Robbins. It was really special. When we got to Target, he picked out 5 matchbox airplanes and couldn't have been happier! Today's been a good day. I'm now sympathizing with the mothers you see at the stores begging the managers to let them use the bathroom. Why is there always a debate in their minds over whether or not to let you use their facility? Your kid doesn't care where they go, just as long as they go- that should be the store's main concern, right?..And yours too, I guess, seeing as they're on your hip  and you don't want pee pee (or worse) on your side.

We're so proud of you, Holden! You've grown up so fast!
