To avoid cabin fever, we've done lots of art and tried to be as creative as possible, which is easy when you have a toddler as imaginative as Holden is. This is him pretending to take his toys to Dallas in his airplane-
After a refused nap yesterday, this is how I found him-
Completely conked out. He's really got into pretending like his crib is an airplane or a space shuttle, so it's too exciting to sleep sometimes. Yesterday morning, I heard him saying, "4, 3, 2, 1, blast off!" He was suppose to be in a time out. It totally didn't work, but he was happy to pick up his toys once his power nap was complete. Who knew playing basketball with your toys was the best way to clean up?
Here's Fount last night modeling his 6 month jammies. Yes, 6 months! (And yes that's a gallon of slobber on his jammies). Holden wasn't completely in 6 month things until he was much older. Fount's nearing on 4 months. Our little wrestler, we call him :)
And here's Holden at about the same age. Long and petitely built. March 2008
So far there's no sign of new flakes. The news says it's going to start coming down hard tonight and in the morning be blizzard conditions. I'm praying our power stays on...Thousands of people in the metro area haven't been so lucky. Tim has to stay at work tonight. There'd be no possible way he'd be able to get to work tomorrow morning with the blizzard predictions we're hearing of. (I never thought, me, a TX girl would be saying "blizzard", but here we are! I suppose, after nearly 4 years of living here, I can start considering myself a NE girl.) Guess I'll have to bribe Holden to stay up and watch American Idol with me! Kind of like I do with Tim :)

What kind of art have you done? I would love some ideas!
Well, lately we've been coloring, decorating runways for his airplanes, making valentines hearts and cards. Tomorrow we're going to do some finger painting for Valentine's Day, which I know he'll love. I'm trying to make whatever art we do revolve around whatever holiday is closest-making it a teaching momet, but for him, it all becomes an airplane or a space shuttle :) What are your ideas? Oh, we play with playdough a lot. I've been considering doing the kind you bake and can paint afterward.
You are a blogging fiend! Keep 'em coming. Hang in there--you'll have one beautiful spring once the snow melts! And I agree--let us know what art ideas you have. I'd love to do some with K!
