I'm totally stumped. I need a centerpiece for our dining room table. It's a completely informal type of room, so I need something on the more simple side. We have a plain wooden table. We've toyed with the idea of painting it/ the chairs, but when it comes down to it, I'm just not sure if I could do it. It has a very worn look on the chairs and table legs, which I love. It was the table Tim grew up with, and before that, it belonged to his grandparents. Tim's parents gave it to us just before we got married. I'm a pretty sentimental person, so I'm going to hold on to it, hopefully, making it a breakfast table someday. Right now all I have is a bowl filled with oranges, which works, but I need something...I'd love an old metal pitcher to hold flowers, but have you seen how high those are? I'm on the lookout for something cheap, people.
Any ideas?

ok meagan, here is what I have on my kitchen table. It is a bread bowl (antique that came from Canton) I'm sure u could find one up there. I didn't pay $20 for mine. I keep it filled with fruit. But also change it out according to the seasons. You could have fun with it with the kids. Valentines, Easter, Spring Fall, whatever. At Christmas I fill it with fake snow and glass ornaments. I'm sure you could always thinks of something cute. You just have to find a cute wooden bowl. Aunt Tammi
Sounds great! We have several flea markets up here. I'll keep my eye out for one. Thanks for you suggestion! I think something like that would look good on our table. I'm going to make a burlap table runner and stencil an "R" on the ends. I think a bread bowl may be the perfect topper!
