When it rains, it pours

Yesterday was a day to remember. Tim, Holden, and I went with my aunt, uncle, and their two kids to tour the White House. It was just gorgeous! The theme this year was "A Red, White and Blue Christmas." The smell of pine filled the air...Every thing was so beautifully decorated. And the history in which I was surrounded was truely breathtaking. It didn't feel like a museum, to me, like I thought it would. It really did feel like a home. A really big home. A freaking big home, but a home, none the less. Looking out the back windows and seeing The Jefferson is something I'll never forget. While I was looking out, I was quickly reminded of how many presidents have stood just where I was and it was such a neat feeling. We have now toured both the East and West Wings! Thanks to Casey Morgan for the spectacular West Wing tour!

Here's a few pictures from our West Wing tour in 2006:

This picture says it all. I can just hear Tim, "We were flippin in there."

I'm sure this is as close as we'll ever get to seeing the private residence, but it was good enough.

We did get to see inside the Oval Office, which was incredible. (Thank you, Casey)!

On a much different note, here's the update, for those of you who are wondering- The weaning is on "pause" at two feedings a day, but it's been going great. Just when I was about to drop down to one a day, Holden started cutting two teeth and if you've gone through the teething process, I need not explain. At least, I think that's all he's cutting...I'm actually too afraid to stick my finger in his mouth longer than it takes to swirl around orajel. His teeth are like knives. Maybe not like knives because they're really cute and tiny. Along with cutting teeth, he usually gets pretty congested, has no appetite, not too mention the roller coaster fever. He's pitiful today. Thankfully he's taking a siesta, which reminds me...

Oh, if you're a mommy, check this out: http://www.momversation.com/ I love this.
