DC

We were blessed with wellness just before our long Labor Day weekend came to an end. Just before bathtime on Saturday evening, we decided to drive into DC for a nice evening walk on The Mall. The weather was absolutely perfect and the walk was so relaxing.

After 6 years of living here, I think I'm just now realizing that we should really take advantage of the opportunity we have, living just outside Washington, DC and all the perks that come along with that. To the kids, The Mall, the monuments, The White House, the history that surrounds them...is totally normal, but to Tim and I, even though, DC is home, it still kind of blows our mind sometimes. We came from the sticks, remember? :)

We were trying to explain to them, while we were looking up at Lincoln's enormous statue, that not everyone gets the opportunity to see these things and what a gift it is that we get to.

Holden has a passion for history, so taking him to see all the things we're reading about at home, is pretty neat.

We were even able to take the kids to sit in mine and Tim's spot. This is where we would sit and hold hands (pre-kids), while we watched the sun set, as we talked about our life and our future kids...Special to have them all here with us.

Even after living here for so long, we still have a checklist of things to do, as does our little historian, Holden.

Anyone up for a trip? We'd love to have you! We're super awesome tour guides :)

Speaking of trip..did I mention that Tim and I are going to Florida with ZERO kids, at the very end of November? What? Tim has a meeting in St. Petersburg and I'm tagging along. What will I do with myself  for 3 days while Tim is in meetingsm you might ask? Sleep, pedicure, shop, read, nothing. Ahhh...I can't wait! Thanks, Tim's parents, for making it possible.
