The first day

I began my morning, with a sweet prayer from my husband. I think that's probably the best gift you can ask for from your husband, especially on your first day of homeschool. A blessing prayer :)

My devotional, this morning, was wonderful. It was titled, ironically, "Your Bright Future." It read, "...Today as you live in the present and look to the future, remember that God has an amazing plan for you. Act-and believe-accordingly." (From Praying for My Family, a devotional book).

Do not limit the limitless of God! With Him, face the future unafraid because you are never alone.
~Mrs. Charles E. Cowman~

I saw God's teaching hand come through today. I was blessed...

Our morning was just perfect. I got up early, had my coffee, breakfast, got ready, and spent time with God- all before the kids decided to rise. It was odd. It was also cloudy and cool outside, which made the house feel even more cozy than usual.
Holden had a smile on his face from the moment he set foot on the stairs to come down for breakfast. He knew what today was and he was grinning a tired smile from ear to ear.
He informed me that he wanted to look like an American today.
(Pops, he wanted his mustache to look like yours).

Sonlight provides a daily lesson plan, so I took that and made a rough class schedule, which, after today, will need quite a bit of tweaking. He is so smart and loves to learn, that there was not enough things on day 1, so I'm going to end up combining several days and adding in some extras, which will be fun.

The littles enjoyed preschool almost as much as Holden. They were all three so cute, sitting Indian style in front of me as we had circle time. Sadie kept telling Fount, "Shhh shhhh!"

So here is what we did today...

Here's Holden on our treasure hunt...Looking for something that started with the letter "A."

Tomorrow is a new day. New approach. New schedule! Sadie has an ENT appointment tomorrow. Say a little prayer for her.
I'll be posting before and after pictures of our homeschool dining room soon!

I'm going to end with the prayer of my devotional, this morning...
"Dear Lord, as I look to the future, I will place my trust in You. If I become discouraged, I will turn to You. If I am afraid, I will seek strength in You. You are my Father, and I will place my hope, my turst, and my faith in You. Amen."
