Oh me oh my
Holdie had an allergic reaction to Cinnamon Chex this morning. It's happened before. Sometimes the kids' skin gets a rash when they are exposed to cinnamon, but this time, his lips started to swell a bit. Scarey! Thankfully, Benadryl is always within an arm's reach at the Ruse's house and that seemed to do the trick.
After his face cleared up, the kids and I went outside to enjoy the weather, as we're expecting rain early this afternoon. It's as humid as can be. Sadie girl didn't last too long. She's cutting a tooth and is a little fussy, so she needed a nap. I'm hoping it comes through soon. She only has 4 teeth and so far, they've each taken a while to pop through. Holden got all of his teeth pretty steadily. So far, Sadie is even slower getting them than Fount was. Fount's actually still waiting on his molars.
Hope you all have a happy week :) Fount has a case of the Mondays...And Holden's asking, "Is tomorrow the weekend?" I think we're all missing Daddy today.
We rarely ever have plans. I definitely wouldn't call us "homebodies," but we don't ever have much scheduled. We're kind of a go with the flow type of family. If we think something sounds like fun, we'll get up and go. I don't think it's my nature to go with the flow- I probably have Tim to thank for that :) With three little kids, going with the flow is an absolute must. Thankfully, that was our lifestyle long before we had children. This weekend, we were blessed with getting to spend time with new friends. I think developing strong relationships with other Christian families is so important. I would go as far to say, it's almost a must. I think our children seeing us fellowship with other believers- seeing Mommy's relationships with other women, seeing Daddy's relationship with other men, is so important to our children. They might not know it now, but someday they'll realize it. As parents we are their models for all relationships. What a priviledge. Growing up, I had "aunts and uncles" who were really just friends of the family, but who honestly felt like family to me and my parents. Being so far away from our family, those relationships we're forming now, as a young family are so valuable to us. I feel like God is blanketing us with sweet friends and I'm so grateful.
