15 months old

Sadie had her 15 month appointment today. She weighs 21.2 lbs. and is 30.25 in. She's in the 35th percentile, so we'll be coming back in 6 weeks to do a weight check on her, as she's had a decline in her growth curve. Pounds and inches aside, she has truly grown up since her first birthday, just 3 short months ago. I can hardly believe my eyes at this little girl. She's no longer a baby. She has turned into a toddler right before my eyes. She runs now, but she runs like a little girl. Dainty. Arms up to her chest, wrists dangling. It's precious.

She loves to sing, "rock bye baby" and will rock her babies so gently and sing to them in the softest voice.

We've started calling her Mama Sadie. She tries to take care of the boys. She even cleans up after them and enjoys helping me clean the house. She'll take a wipe or a kitchen towel and I'll see her on the ground scrubbing hard. I'm not sure if it's a Northern thing, but when we moved here, we became accustomed to taking our shoes off when we go inside a home, so when the kids get home, they immediately start taking off their shoes. As soon as a shoe hits the floor, Sadie starts singing, "We yup, we yup," which is our clean-up song, "Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere.." and she'll start picking up the shoes, one by one and putting them on the stairs.

And she loves playing outside with her brothers. She's a busy bee. She also loves when we push her on the tricycle. She hardly fits, but she hangs on tight and would let you push her for hours. Same with the swing. She'll say "Wee! Wee! Wee!" in a really calm voice and she'll say it until we get her out. It's so funny! She also loves to tickle us. She'll say "Ticka Ticka Ticka Ticka!..." really fast. (Fount said tickled the same way when he was her age). A few weeks ago, Tim and I looked in the backseat of the van and she was holding one foot still and tickling it. It was hilarious!

Yesterday she put herself in time out twice. She kept playing the TV remotes and was repeatedly getting corrected. (And Holden kept correcting me for correcting Sadie. I know that's the big brother protector in him). In a minute, I heard a pitter patter run into the kitchen. I looked down and saw Sadie sit down, lean against the wall, place her hands in her lap and smile up at me. It was hilarious! But as funny as it was to see her go to time out on her own, I was quickly reminded of what a milestone I was watching. My daughter was correcting herself for the first time.

As many things as she loves to eat, she still spits out milk. Regular milk, Soy milk, Almond milk, Rice milk, Coconut milk, Strawberry milk, Chocolate milk...Not havin it. She drinks plenty of water, thank goodness, and is still nursing a few times a day- mainly in the morning and just before she goes to bed at night. She's definitely not taking in as much as she once was, but she's also not ready to wean just yet, and with her being the last baby, I'm not in a big hurry either. It's bittersweet.

At 15 months she is saying:
*Me or Me Me when she is referring to herself. She even recognizes herself in pictures and in the mirror. Every night when she is on the changing table, she'll point up to a big picture of herself that hangs just above and will say, "Me Me!" and pat the picture. It's so sweet!
*Ba for ball
*Mommy, Mama
*Daddy, Dada
*Bye
*No, which she started saying yesterday, after an episode of Strawberry Shortcake in the van. Ugh.
*Mo for more
*Chee for cheese- the food and for pictures. She'll take my phone and hold it out and say "Chee!"
*Tee for teeth. She gets so excited when it's time to brush her teeth.
*Biby or Baby when she is talking about her baby
*Rock bye baby in a singing voice
*Wee repeatedly when she's going fast or when she's swinging.
*Flower
*Uh oh

She's a little miracle :)
