We just got home from our very first family of five road trip. We were gone nearly two and a half weeks. We rolled in at 12:30 this morning, slept late-ish, and have been enjoying our last day of vacation with Tim.
I truly can't believe we did it! We drove to from Virginia to Oklahoma and Texas to visit our families and the kids were angels.
Here are some pictures to document our three days of traveling to Oklahoma...I'm dividing it up into parts.
~This is Day 1~
Sunday, May 6th
We left after Sunday school, ate lunch and then quickly got on the road.
As planned, the littles fell right asleep...
Holden, of course, couldn't get over how awesome the DVD player was.
He looked like this for most of the trip on Sunday. I think it was hard for him to believe that we were going to force allow him to watch movies all day. Ha!
This is when we knew it was time for a break :)
And then peace again after a snack and run around.
On day 1, we made it all the way to Knoxville, TN!
I think Tim and I were both surprised that we made it that far on the first day.
We saw a sign that read "Davy Crockett" and pulled in to the closest hotel. After checking in and settling down, we realized that all the Davy Crockett things were 30 miles out of the way.
Holden didn't seem too disappointed, thank goodness. He thought it was still pretty neat to be in "the greenest state in the land of the free!"
I'll post about Day 2 tomorrow. For now, I must go, I'm in the depths of laundry!
