Goodbye

On Sunday, we said goodbye to Fount's beloved pacifier, "pah pah" or  "pa pa" (however it's spelled). It was a sad day...I don't think Tim and I realized, at the time, that Fount was going to actually grieve the loss. It's Tuesday, now, and it's getting better by the day. He is use to having his pacifier at nighttime and naptime, so, thankfully, he forgets about it during the day. The saddest thing he has been saying to us is, "My pa pa gone, Mommy." And he says it in the most calm, sad voice you've ever heard. Even though we know we did the right thing by making him give it up, I still feel a little guilty. After he woke up from his nap on Sunday, we started making a really big deal about him being a big boy and we took him to Target to get a big boy prize. He picked out a Lightning Mcqueen noisy car and paid for it with his pacifier. The most pitiful thing ever was when he kept holding his hand out to the lady to give him his pacifier back. She didn't get it, she kept giving him "five." In fact, I don't think she got the whole thing at all. I tried to explain it to her before we checked out and she just kept staring at me- no response. I wasn't sure if she spoke English. After several long seconds of us staring at eachother, she finally spoke (perfect English). I think she actually thought we wanted to purchase the car with a pacifier.

Pictures from the goodbye and a short video are to come. In the meantime, here are a few pictures of Fount...

And, now, we're a pacifier-free family forever. Wow...Sadie doesn't even take bottles. Pretty soon there will be no more baby things laying around. Wow. You'd think I'd be sad, but I'm not :) Every age has been my favorite, but the boys are really starting to be fun now, plus they're friends and there's really nothing sweeter than that. Fount said, on our our way home from Target- "I don't want to big" and sometimes I don't want him to be big either. It happens in a blink!
