What's a fourth of July without watermelon?
Popping fireworks in the backyard with Daddy
They loved it!
Isn't this what you're suppose to look like on the fourth, when you're one?
That afternoon, we put in a movie, hoping they'd get some rest. Fount had already skipped his nap for the day, but Holden woke up ready to go!
On our way to watch the fireworks, we stopped off at Haulani Shave Ice in Manassas, VA. It was amazing! Tim and I have been on a search for shaved ice for 5 years now. This will be a frequent treat for the Ruse family!
This was Fount's 1st snowcone! |
We went to old town Manassas to watch the fireworks. Last year was our first year to attend, and we decided to make it a Ruse family tradition. To us, it feels as all-American as you can get. Walking through the beautiful old neighborhoods...houses draped in red, white, and blue...flags lining the sidewalks...topiaries...It makes you proud...
Makes you want a hotdog bathed in chili.
Here's the little guy, just waiting for the fireworks to begin...
And here's Fount trying to reach the balloons that float by. He kept saying, "I'm gunna git one."
All three of the kids enjoyed the show! But for Tim and I, the best show of all was watching our kids.
She watched the whole show, unphased by all the booming.
What a fun evening we had! Hope you all enjoyed the holiday, as well!
