Special Daddy Time

Tim and the boys have been having "special Daddy time" for a while now. I guess they've had it since they were born, but we've just started calling it that and, somehow, giving it a name it makes the time with Daddy more exciting.

One of the things I've thought about quite a bit as we've started adding to our family is, making sure that every child feels special and important. Playing "man to man" has assured this for me, but now we're looking at a "zone," since we're about to be a family of five. So, as we add another child, my prayer is that each of them will still have some special individual time with Tim and I. I think that's so important. In reading, "The Five Love Languages" for children, I'm really starting to understand a little bit more about the boys and how they work. It's such a great book. I feel like one of Holden's main love languages is quality time, which is why I'm so happy we have "special Daddy time." Of course he needs quality time from both Tim and I, but I'm noticing, that as he grows...maybe since he's hit three...that his time with Tim is becoming more and more of a need. I think I've heard that before about boys and their Dads...It totally makes sense to me. And Tim is so incredible with them! He really is the most wonderful dad. He's so good with them- so patient- so creative- and something I've found to be an important quality...he's always available to them.

Here are some pictures from this last weekend, during "special Daddy time"-
