And the renovation begins...

Good job, Tim!

I'm thinking Saturday may have been one of my favorite dates with Tim. I'm still waiting on that cruise though ;) This past Saturday, Tim and I went on a date, leaving the boys with a sweet as can be babysitter, whom I found through our church's message board about a year ago. (A plus- she's in nursing school, so that makes her responsible, right?) Since moving up here, finding someone whom we trust with the boys has been a rather difficult task, but I'm realizing that dates are like water- you HAVE TO HAVE them. No matter how long Tim and I have been together, a date with him is always special, (that, and a margarita at Don Pablo's). And I can see that it's special for Holden, and will be special for Fount, as well, to see that Tim and I still date eachother. When one of us is holding Holden, he'll grab our heads and push them together to make us kiss. He loves it. And he'll say, "Again! Again!" and giggle. I've always felt like, one of the greatest gifts Tim and I are giving our children is two parents that love eachother no matter what, always.

After dinner, we went to Lowe's. It doesn't sound romantic by any stretch of the means, but it was pretty exciting...holding hands...picking out paint colors and knobs...looking at dry wall...not chasing anyone down the isles. It was fun. It's so "us" to start painting at 11pm and if we didn't have to get up at 6 the next morning, we would have finished the whole thing, but that's just how we roll, or is it just how we use to roll?...

Here's our itty bitty kitchen before:
For now we're painting the walls, the cabinets, and changing out fixtures. To follow will be a backsplash, counter, and sink.

The first paint on the wall! I found it on a wall in a Pottery Barn magazine. Someting "Cadet"

We took two of these...which one do we look less tired in? It's 2am.
Somehow we both got squirted in the eye with paint. It was funnier when it happened to Tim.

So, naturally, we skipped church the next day...God understands right?...We had nursery duty two weeks in a row.

Here's what we did on Sunday: Primer

Wah La!
And that's just the primer.
They'll be "Baby's Breath" white

New knobs and outlet covers. They're black-ish coppery colored.

Thanks! We wanted something fresh. Our kitchen is so small that it needed a little pop. We have a lot more to do. Someone asked us today who we were using to redo our kitchen and I looked at Tim, and said, "Eachother!" and laughed. So far it's been fun!

Thank you, Amber.

Please forgive me for not having returned your email. I'm so sorry. You've been on my mind and in my prayers. I haven't had a chance to read your recent blog post, but I saw the title...I hope you're feeling better today. I was so happy to find out you're going to be having a baby boy! Yay! I know you must be thrilled to finally know who's in your belly :)
