"Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of your hands."
Psalm 90:17
Chapter 2 was titled, "His Work." I am truely blessed by Tim's work ethic. It's one of the first things that drew me to him (besides his incredible handsomeness, I must say!) He's a wonderful example to our boys and an inspiration to myself. The prayer the author urges us to pray is that "You would bless the work of my husband's hands. May his labor bring not only favor, success, and prosperity, but great fulfillment...Give him strength, faith, and a vision for the future...Give him enough confidence in the gifts You've placed in him...Open doors of opportunity for him that no man can close. Develop his skills so that they grow more valuable with each passing year. Show me what I can do to encourage him...'Let him be like a tree planted by the stream of Your living water, which brings forth fruit in due season. May he never wither under pressure, but grow strong and prosper.' (Psalm 1:3)," (pg. 53).
As I'm slowly turning the pages of this book, I am becoming more and more aware of the duty we have, as wives to pray for our husbands. Just like we pray for our children, so much more important is it that we pray for the one who leads our family. That's very real to me, now, that we have two boys- growing each day into young men, learning by the wonderful example Tim leads by.

I am so guilty of focusing my prayer on Gavin sometimes. I think a lot of it has to do with him going to daycare. I am constantly in prayer for protection from harm. Sometimes that overshadows my prayers for Guthry, and I really have got to get better about that. Our sons will be a lot like our husbands one day, so I should definitely be on my knees about that!
I've enjoyed your blogs about the book. It's like reading a little devo! :)
Thanks, Steph!
