We flew into Abilene first and spent a few days there before we went onto San Antonio for the Cope-Helman wedding. While we were in Abilene, my Grandfather was in the hospital. I was so thankful that I was able to be there. Latest news is that he's home and eating steak!
The last day that we were in Abilene, we went to my grandparent's farm so that (my dad) Pops could take Holden on the tractor and to feed the cows. Ever heard of "sook?" This is Holden heading out. It was quite windy that day and we had forgotten his hat.
The drive to San Antonio was our first roadtrip with both of the boys and they were perfect! Fount slept almost the entire way and Holden kept himself busy with his cars and magnadoodle. Here's Holden toward the end of the drive- "I'm just freakin out."
Can you tell where we are? I thought the trees might be a dead giveaway, if I didn't tell you that we were in Texas.
Tim's best friend, Jeremiah (the groom), graciously offered his house for us to stay at. Which, by the way, was a real treat to see. It reminded me of Starbucks. I got a coffee craving the minute I walked in the door. It was lovely. Seeing Tim and Jeremiah together again was the best. They're those friends that not every one has in a lifetime, but when you get that kind of friend, there's that bond that never goes away. The ones that you can go months without talking to and pick up right where you left off. The kind of friend we pray our boys have someday.
This was also my very first time to meet the bride, Gabby. What a jewel Jeremiah has found! It's crazy that they've already been together 10 years.
While we were in San Antonio, Tim's brother, Steve and his wife, Brittany flew down from Oklahoma for a quick visit. We were all so happy to see them! Especially Holden!
Pretty much all the pictures I took of the rehearsal and wedding came out weird. I couldn't seem to get the lighting right. Guess it's a good thing they weren't depending on me for pictures.
Here's the bride and groom at the rehearsal.
Here's Holden in his G-suit, all ready for the ceremony. Doesn't he look big? I didn't get one of Fount all snazzed up. He, again, was sleeping. However, the four of us took a picture with Jeremiah and Gabby after the wedding, so I'm hoping to snag a copy when their pictures come in.
They had the funnest ceremony I have every been too. Of course, mine was the best :) but theirs was so much fun--very much audience involved. There was alot of dancing...Alot of booty shaking...It was great! The reception was just as fun- coffee, hot cocoa, lemonade, cheese popcorn, chex mix, and cupcakes. Very laid back, just like the bride and groom. Here is Holden covered in cheese popcorn. I'm pretty sure he ate more than anyone else there. He's a sucker for snack food.
Isn't Gabby just radient?! She walked down the isle to "At Last"...I could cry just thinking about it. She was stunning. (No, I didn't take this picture. Notice the lighting is right on?)
I thought this was a great idea! Money for the honeymoon!
So the story is- Jeremiah proposed to Gabby at a place where you can go and paint your own art alongside a professional. The two pieces standing are the ones they painted before he popped the question. I thought having the guests sign a canvas, instead of a book was such an originial idea.
Off they go! The Copes!
After the ceremony, the family and wedding party all went to dinner at Paloma Blanca in dowtown San Antonio. It sure hit the spot! Mexican food and margaritas. Does it get any better than that?
Congratulations, Copes! Looking foward to seeing you two this summer!

Looks like a fantastic trip. I'm so glad you had a good time and that the boys did so well traveling! How fun to celebrate a wonderful event like a wedding. Now that you're back in VA, do you miss the TX winter weather? :)
Not a bit! It's too crazy!
