Take a chill pill

This is to all those snooty travelers out there who have it out on people who travel with young kids. You don't have to look too hard to find them. They're the ones who get all bent out of shape the minute they see a stroller. They fluff their newspaper, roll their eyes... Since we live away from all our family, it was a given that our children were going to have to get accustomed to flying. The minute we get on the plane with all our gear (because you know you  have to be prepared for every thing. Airports don't sell diapers, wipes, or formula...Going without those necessities could be a real crisis for everyone) we start getting those looks. You know the kind I mean- The "Oh, ****, this is going to be a lo---ng flight...I hope I don't get stuck by them" kind of looks. It use to bother me, but now, I just smile because I know they're the ones who are going to feel like complete morons after the flight because we travel with little angels- really. I am so proud of them. Holden kept himself completely busy with the airline safety guide, which made me wonder why we got him all those things for Christmas :) Isn't it funny how little it takes to make a child happy? What a lesson, hu?

OK, back to my rant. Dulles has the most annoying transportation system. I don't even know how to describe it. They're these out of date bus, building things...I know they're working on it, but come on people...So, naturally, every one and their dog tries to uncomfortably squeeze on like it's their last chance, when, really, they run every 3 minutes. Every one usually does what they can to make it work, but when you can't move any more, respect the space, exit, and wait for the next bus, building thingy. Well, Tim has a crashed out Holden in his carseat on top of the stroller and has pushed it as far as it can go and some snooty guy starts yelling at him. I was proud of Tim. Always keeps his cool. He told him, in as nice of a way as possible, that he'd have to jump over the kid. I think the man thought every one was going to back him up, but when they didn't, he cowardly backed off the bus, building thingy. It was pretty funny.

Glad the boys did good on the trip. Sounds like you were blessed with good travelers. Too bad everyone else can be as sweet as them!
