After 3 1/2 days of no electricity or gas and 5 1/2 days of no cable/internet, we're finally settling in. It was hard trying to clean a house by candlelight! We moved Friday morning and have slowly been unpacking ever since. The dining room and baby's room have become the "catch all," but I'm hoping that after this weekend, we'll be able to clear some of it out. Thankfully on the days we we're without our "necessities," we did have water, which made it where we could actually stay here. During that time, we went back and forth to our apartment to take showers. But believe me, the drive was worth it!
I was very pleased with the movers we hired- Two Guys and a Truck http://www.twoguysandatruck.com/ It took them 3 guys and 3 hours to have us completely moved. They were efficient, professional, and they wrapped all our furniture. The way they carried the boxes was ridiculous! They carried them on their backs. Any way, I was impressed and I totally recommend them.
Tim officially cleaned and cleared out our apartment on Tuesday (THANK YOU, SWEET HUSBAND OF MINE!), so we won't be going back until we return our keys. The last time we were there, Holden said, "Goodbye house first." I could have cried... So they made us pay rent up until October 17th, but called and requested access to our apartment on September 30th. Yeah right! I think we plan on returning our keys at the end of the business day on the 17th, just because we can.
I've been so proud of Holden. He has adjusted so well to the new house. He loves the stairs and having a backyard to play in. The first night we stayed here, we were putting Holden to bed and were about to pray for him, when he said, "Bless you, Dad." I'm pretty sure Tim and I both had a tear in our eye when we heard that. He's growing up so fast- saying his ABCs, drinking out of a big boy cup, and singing all kinds of songs... I just can't believe it. I think once the baby is here, it will make Holden seem even more like a big boy. I mean, he's almost 2 for goodness sake.
Wish us luck unpacking! We're on a time crunch here! I'm 36 weeks this week and feeling every bit ready. I'll post a picture when I can, but for now, I'll tell you that my belly button looks quite distorted.
