Every day at 4pm I watch Oprah. It's like my chocolate of the day. (OK, one of my chocolates of the day, thanks to zero trick-or-treaters). For some reason Oprah's introduction of
Will Smiiiiiith was much louder today than norm. I think she's still on a high from President-elect
Barak Obama's big win (as am I). Any way, I got up to locate the remote, which of course is always lost. 2 seconds later, I turned around to find my baby Holden sitting on top of the coffee table. What the?
How'd he? He looked so proud of himself. But next time it's big trouble buddy ;)
Here's our little ghost on his very 1st Halloween:

Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember enjoying Halloween. The dressing up, the pretending, the festivals, the candy! What a fun fall celebration! Whenever I was younger, our church would put on a huge fall festival for Halloween. There would be mazes made out of cardboard boxes, cake walks, haunted houses, palm reading, which I always found hilarious because it was the pastor's wife and fellow teacher. Of course they knew all our crushes and would
for tell our future, always including our beau of the week! Remember when you could actually go house to house in your neighborhood and stock up on homemade treats, not worrying about Mr. & Mrs. So and So sneaking a razor into your candy. What was that all about? And what's with people thinking Halloween's all about devil worship, razors, and cat sacrifices. Give me a break. Let Halloween be to our kids what it was when we were kids--a fun, celebration of fall and harvest. A time for kids to pretend, be silly, and eat a boat load of candy. I can't wait until next year when Holden can really participate!

So here's the real question...did Holden gather his first bag of candy? And are mom and dad helping him eat it? :) We shamelessly used our sweet pumpkin to rake in the candy. Pipsqueak is extremely happy about that. Hey, and it was great seeing you guys today!
Ha Ha! Actually we're grubbing on a pile of candy we bought for trick-or-treaters. We had not a single one, so we have to eat it all, of course. You know how quickly chocolate goes bad...
Great to see you too! You look great!
